Our first order from Switzerland was very exciting. On the one hand, we looked forward to the construction site and the upcoming work on Lake Zurich with the mountains in the background. On the other hand, the official customs - such as the Swiss customs regulations, EORI number and ATA carnet - were a special challenge with a great learning effect.
But then it started. After dismantling the old dockside, only the well-preserved wooden piles remained in the water. Hereupon we attached then a steel substructure and designed in the ORKA appearance.
The special feature of this dockside is the continuous round design. A quadruple metal float conceals small optical irregularities of the substructure and offers a lot of protection for the boat. As covering were plastic corrugated boards in use, which were laid radially on the underlying platform.
A striking eye-catcher at the fixed dockside are the stainless steel lamps, which originate from our house. The solid model offers two functions: on the one hand, they give the dockside the necessary lighting and, on the other, they can be used as bollards for short-term landings.
